A lot has happened since my New York apartment on the Lower East Side was shot for the cover of Elle Decor in 2012. I got married to my wife, photographer Rachel Schwarz, who came with a parrot. We also recently expanded our family with the birth of our smiley daughter Regina last June.
Our homes are a reflection of our lives, as our lives change our interiors adapt - and my apartment on the edge of Chinatown is no exception. My couch is now covered in a new performance fabric from my line, the previous guest bedroom for my wayward friends to crash for a night or two is now Regina's nursery, and Turkey Bird, our parrot, flies around the art and artifacts I've collected over the years and amuses Regina.
See below for some of the snapshots from the original Elle Decor shoot, and our most recent additions including Regina's nursery and the new couch. My apartment had a lot of help from designer Sara Bengur as well - for which I am always very grateful.

Living Room
The big change in our living room is our sofa. We recovered the sofa with a Gent Stripe Sand Performance Fabric - a collaboration with Sunbrella. Rachel tested it by spilling red wine on it and it wiped right off - now I understand why people love performance fabric! Our dark red wall is Farrow & Ball's Red Earth. I also have lots and lots of vintage pillows throughout the apartment.

Dining Room and Kitchen
Our dining room and kitchen remain pretty much the same. My ink and gesso painting and Benjamin Moore's Bachelor Blue set the tone.

Main Bedroom
One of my custom headboards sits inside a Silver Canopy bed, and below a vintage hand painted boar wall hanging. Side table lamps are by Christopher Spitzmiller.

Home Office
My study is now Regina’s bedroom, however I still have the Richard Wrightman desk, which really is a great statement piece (and lots of books everywhere). I use different blues throughout each room of the apartment.

Nursery
For Regina's nursery, we left the walls blue, but wanted to cover them in art - block prints and hand painted tapestries are everywhere. We also keep an extra bed with a fun headboard covered in my Aerial Clay fabric.
