Before a quilt becomes a quilt, a large yardage of pure cotton voile is hand printed, then sewn around the edges. Then it is sent to quilters, who will sew the fabric to natural cotton batting by making four-inch squares with double thread stitching. This makes for an incredibly durable quilt.
These patterns are then followed by meticulous seamstresses, who add their touch by stitching the quilt all throughout.
A large yardage of pure cotton voile is first hand printed and then hand sewn around the edges, leaving a small gap in the seam in the back.
The cotton voile is then sent to quilters who insert natural cotton batting into the quilt shell through the small opening left on the back seam. Then, they will sew the fabric onto batting. We only use 100% natural cotton for filling all of our quilts and coverlets.
Once the batting has been fitted into the printed cotton voile, the seam opening is hand sewn shut. Patterns are then marked on the quilting surface using a sharp needle by a trained artisan.
